Cookie and local storage policy
Updated:
This page explains which storage technologies AniRadar uses, what they are for and how you can control them. It complements the privacy policy.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Local storage works similarly, but data stays on your device and is not automatically sent to any server.
Own storage (necessary)
AniRadar does not use its own tracking cookies. It uses local storage to make the site work and remember your preferences:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ar_cfg_v1 | Your settings: language, country, animations and options. | Until you delete it |
ar_saved_v2 | Your saved series list. | Until you delete it |
ar_recent_v1 | Recently viewed series. | Until you delete it |
ar_crunchy_v1, ar_alu, ar_tlsort | Imported Crunchyroll lists, AniList username (if used) and calendar order. | Until you delete it |
arc:* | Temporary data cache for faster loading. | Minutes to a few hours |
| Service worker and cache | Lets you install the site and open what you last viewed offline. | Until you delete it |
This data is strictly necessary to provide the service you request and therefore does not require consent. It never leaves your device.
Third-party cookies
Google AdSense (advertising)
When ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to show ads, limit repetition and measure performance. Ads can be personalised or non-personalised. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised ads are shown only if you accept them in Google's consent message, which you can reopen at any time with the Manage consent link in the footer. More information: how Google uses data and Google ad settings.
YouTube (trailers)
Trailers play with youtube-nocookie.com and only when you press play. At that point YouTube may receive your IP address and playback data.
Cloudflare (infrastructure)
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which may use technical security and performance technologies. AniRadar does not use them to identify you.
Data services
AniList, JustWatch and trace.moe receive the requests your browser makes (for example, the title you search for) and may log your IP address. See their privacy policies for details.
How to manage or delete data
- In AniRadar: Settings → “Clear cache” removes temporary data. Your lists and settings are deleted from the site data in your browser.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies and site data from its privacy settings. If you block local storage, some features, such as your list, will stop saving.
- Advertising: use the Manage consent link in the footer (when available) or Google ad settings.
